Poll: Should I Delete this Comment and Ban this Commenter?

Not 24 hours after announcing my lack of a comment policy and confessing sympathy for even spam commenters, I have been forced to reconsider.

And I am faced with a dilemma. To ban or not to ban?

Actually, “ban” is a bit harsh. I probably wouldn’t permanently ban anyone, but on my post The Difference Between Men & Women-When Clothes Are Dirty? a commenter referring to him or herself as “Jesus Christ” left the following:

1915: 1.8 Billion people,
2010: 6.8 Billion people,
95 years: 5 Billion people,
2310: 22 Billion people,
Solution to problem: Stop Creating Babies

The comment is (1) anonymous, (2) irrelevant, and (3) somewhat bothersome to me (the father of a 2 year old cutie pie). I realize this blog is not a democracy, and I can do whatever I please ultimately.

But, dear readers, I am asking for your input (and trying out the WP poll feature):

New Theme

So many of my fellow bloggers are sporting new themes this summer, I just couldn’t resist.

I don’t know if I’ll keep this one, I was pretty fond of my old theme, and I haven’t changed themes (for more than a few seconds) since I moved to WordPress in April of 2008.

For those of you who don’t follow the WordPress.com blog, this is the newest theme called iNove. Sounds all hip and chic doesn’t it?

Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?

If you’ve changed themes recently, feel free to leave a link below so we can check it out.

WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org: Any Advice?

For some time now, I’ve been contemplating the switch from WordPress.com (which I love) to a self-hosted WordPress.org site. Any advice?

The primary reasons I would make the switch are (1) increased functionality and design control, (2) integrating my blogs and firm website into one individual site-which I’m convinced can be done using WordPress, and (3) to develop my own personal web skills.

What’s holding me back(?): WordPress.com is (1) so easy to use, (2) basically free (I do pay the nominal charges for dropping the “.wordpress” from the name), and (3) I’m a little nervous about the installation and migration.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Prayers?

Reorganizing My Reader

Okay, since so many of you have moved to WordPress (cheers!), I’ve had to reorganize my Google Reader. I’ve also learned that you cannot unsubscribe from a Blogger blog that you are also following. It just keeps reappearing in the reader.

So, I have stopped following all of you who have moved, but only on Blogger. Please assume I still love you all, but I have only your new blogs active in my reader now (I think).

If for some reason you suspect that I don’t, please let me know.

New iPhone is Available for Pre-Order

New iPhone 3g(s)

You can now pre-order the new iPhone 3G(s) and get it by June 19.

It’s been six months since I cracked the screen on my (then) new iPhone, and I can only now talk about it.

And just in time for the release of the new iPhone 3G(s).

I was a hard-core Palm guy in a previous life, but life, since the iPhone, has taken on new meaning.

Think of the world before the printing press, and the world after the printing press. Yeah, it’s that good. And it’s getting even better.

What’s new:

  • picture and video MMS (which is big, and you know what I mean, if you’re an iPhone user)
  • 16gb & 32gb models
  • video recording and editing
  • 3 megapixel, autofocus, tap-to-focus camera
  • voice control
  • better battery life, and other pretty cool stuff.

The price? $199 for the 16gb and $299 for the 32gb with 2-year contract. Currently contracted att users can still get discounted iPhones by renewing for another 2 years, and if I’m not mistaken those prices are $399 & $499 respectively.

So, what does this have to do with the Bible? Nothing, other than there are a lot of really cool Bible apps you can use for Bible reading and study. I prefer Olive Tree, but there are others.

And it’s therapeutic for me to talk about it now-six months later. So, indulge me while I kick back on my therapist’s couch (which is, for the time being, this blog).

Oh, and you can, of course, do all of your WordPress blogging and blog reading from your iPhone if you so choose.
