Get Your Bible Study Tips Published
Posted by Peter in Bible, Christianity, Genesis, Old Testament on June 24, 2010
This seemed appropriate for my readers (from the Logos Blog):
Do you have some great Bible study tips that have helped you in your study of Genesis? We want to hear about them!
The theme of Bible Study Magazine’s November/December 2010 issue will be Genesis: Tower of Babel to Joseph. We want you to submit your best Bible study tips on Bible Study Magazine’s Facebook page. The best tips will be published in our two-year anniversary issue, Nov/Dec ’10!
I spend a lot of time in Genesis, as you may know, so I would also be interested in said study tips.
Good luck!
Which Modern Evangelist/Theologian are You
This was something of a shock (especially given the discussion I had with Polycarp):
Peter took the Which Modern Evangelist/Theologian are You? quiz and the result is John Piper. You are the Pastor of Bethlehem Baptist in Minneapolis. You are a brilliant thinker, writer and preacher. However, you also question wether John Calvin was enough of a Calvinist. You wield the sword of protection for any perceived threat to God’s sovereignty. Unfortunately, your idea of God’s sovereignty is pretty much limited to the idea of “Predestination” and not much else. No one can doubt where your heart stands, and you are deeply passionate about Christ. Unfortunately, you are often perceived as being narrow & rigid. It’s not fair, but you might do yourself a favor by not reminding people what degenerate, filthy robots we are. (Most of us already know that)
Well, there you have it. At least they got the “brilliant thinker, writer…” part right. And it’s a Facebook app so it must be right, right?
Here are a few others:
- Elshaddai Edwards
- Bitsy Griffin
- tc robinson
- and, brace yourself, Polycarp.
Win a Free Bible from Crossway
The Crossway.blog announced a contest on Crossway’s Facebook page where three lucky winners will be chosen to win a Crossway Bible of the winner’s choice.
To enter, post a photo of your well-worn Bible on the Crossway Facebook wall. Your photo can be of any of your Bibles, not necessarily an ESV. Three winners will be selected on June 15 to pick out a Crossway Bible of their choice.
Please note, I think some users were having difficulty posting photos, and I’m not sure if they have worked out all of the kinks just yet. But, if you are a Facebook user, you might give it a try.
UPDATE: The kinks are worked out, and the wall explains how to upload your photos.
Crossway on Facebook
I have written previously that Crossway and Tyndale both do an excellent job of keeping the Bible current and in the news.
Well, along those same lines, the Crossway.blog has announced the Crossway Facebook Page. So, if you are a Facebooker, you can keep up with all of the Crossway happenings.
Facebook Throwdown
Posted by Peter in Christianity on April 29, 2009
Calling all Facebook bloggers!
Last night, I was belittled by my wife because of the number of our Facebook friends. She has 115 and I have a paltry 105.
Well, I can’t stand for that, now can I? Please, I beg you, if you, my dear reader, are a Facebooker, please befriend me (Peter M. Lopez) here. I only need eleven to take the lead, but I want to close the door on this discussion forever.
I will be forever grateful!
