Personally, I prefer the unofficial rankings which have BOB at 11 (down 5 slots from #6 in November), while the official rankings have me at 17 (-11). Considering I took 3 weeks off in December, I can live with either.

• The Complete List is approaching 600 blogs (361 Bible blogs, and 223 related blogs).
• Jim and Joel are still perched at the top.
• BOB’s buddy TC (New Leaven) comes in at 13.
• Jeff (Scripture Zealot) is holding strong at 15; and
• Yours truly, BOB, finishes a respectable 6.

Jim and Joel are still one and two. Jeff is holding strong at nine. Jeremy, John and Jim (a different Jim) are also in the top ten along with a few other guys whose names do not start with “J.”

And yours truly, in a record setting traffic month, inches up one place to 12.

• Bob’s good friend Jeff is hanging in there at No. 4;
• Joel is narrowing the gap, but still remains a close(er) No. 2;
• Newly listed Matt Dabbs makes a strong showing at No. 3 (although Matt is not new to BOB, he has been on my blogroll for quite some time);
• Jim is holding down the fort at No. 1; and
• Despite taking 1/3 of the month off, yours truly comes in a respectable No. 13.

Biblioblog Top 50

The Biblioblog Top 50 for June is out, and here’s the scoop:

• In June, the complete biblioblog list topped 250 blogs, and now stands at 258. There are also 191 related blogs for a whopping 449 blogs in all;
• My buddy tc robinson over at New Leaven makes his debut at No. 40. Congrats to tc;
• One of my personal favorites, Nick Norelli at RDTWT, and the less-than-deserving winner of this prize for the reasons stated therein, comes in at No. 18;
• Ol’ what’s his name is still No. 1 and surprisingly humble about it; and
• Your’s truly is hanging in there, a slight slippage from last month, but a respectable No. 15.

I guess that just about puts a bow on the month of June, except that I neglected to mention on this blog that my little Libby “the Libster” Lopez turned one this weekend. Happy birthday Libby!

Biblioblog Top 50

The new Biblioblog Top 50 for the month of May is out.

Your’s truly (Beauty of the Bible) has cracked the top 10 (but just barely), coming in at #10, up 13 spots from #23 last month.

Many thanks to all of you guys for reading.

Here are some other notables:

1. Dr. Jim West refused to relinquish the top spot and remains at #1.
2. BOB’s good friend Jeff (Scripture Zealot) is up an impressive 29 spots to #18.
3. Bryan Lilly of KATAGRAPHAIS (and the newest member of BOB’s blogroll) is the big mover and shaker up 108 spots to #19.

I’ve always known this was one of the top biblioblogs in existence, but until now I have lacked the ability to prove it by objective measures.

I expect that one day, this blog will be perched atop said list looking down at the rest of the biblioblogging world.  But, for the time being, I’m looking up at 46 truly worthy blogs.

10. The Sidebar Warning. And I quote, “Spammers will be deleted without notice. This includes anybody peddling unorthodox theology.” I’m bold, but not that bold.  I even allow a spammer here and there as an act of service to spammers everywhere, but not Gary.  And unorthodox theology, are you kidding me(?), it’s all over the place here.  So, support Gary’s no-spamming policy and put him on a list.

9. The “My Bible Preferences Today Widget.” Unlike many bibliobloggers, Gary changes his Bible translation preferences like Dr. Jim West changes themes.  I do too.  My favorite translation is usually the one I’m reading at that moment.  So, support Gary’s support of various Bible translations and put him on a list.

8. The Conservative Underground: I don’t know what it is, what it means, or how it’s “underground” with blog widgets circulating, but it sounds so conspiratorial.  So, support Gary’s illuminati-ed brethren and put him on a list (tc, that brethren is also for you, my brother, put Gary on one of your lists).

7. Gary’s Funny: If you like your humor like fine wine (the dryer the better), perhaps Gary’s blog is for you. Gary seems to think, “All those other blogs are written by guys who are much more single-minded and mentally disciplined.” If his Google reader list is anything like mine, this is too funny.  Doesn’t humor like this merit inclusion on a list?

6. Weather Updates: In the event you find yourself in Monkato, MN, look no further than Gary’s blog to know if you need an umbrella or snow shoes.  Everyone in Monkato, MN should put Gary on a list.

5. Me: Yes, me.  Gary accepted my Facebook friendship, listed this blog on his blogroll, and is a reader of mine.  Such wisdom, intelligence, and taste deserves to be on a list.

2. Divers: Not as in scuba, but as in various. Yes, Gary still uses the King James spelling of diverse in his blog subtitle, The Sundry Times (and divers manners).  Put Gary on a list and you could generate more traffic from scuba searches.  If it’s just a spelling error, well, he got away with one.

1. The Smirk: And the #1 reason to put Gary on a list: his smirk. Can you beat this guy’s profile photo?  He looks like someone you can’t help but trust while also looking like he knows something he shouldn’t, or something you don’t.  Dick Cheneyesque, from the Cheney-Lieberman debates.  I would trust him with my child, but I wouldn’t dare sit across a poker table from him.
