An Old Friend’s Blog

This is sort of random, but through the wonder that is facebook, I discovered the blog of my high school band director, Jimcude’s blog.

Side note: yes, I was in the band. I actually went to a high school that was small enough you could play football and still be in the band.

It appears to be a relatively new blog, a faith-intersects-life kind of blog. I encourage you to show him a little love and check it out.

Peter, don’t tell anyone, but I was in the band for my freshman year in high school. I played…the clarinet. Then I joined JROTC.

The clarinet, huh? Well, I guess it could have been worse. It could have been the flute (no offense to any flute players). I played the trumpet, or, rather, I blew a lot of air through a trumpet. I don’t know if you would call what I did actually “playing,” but I enjoyed it.

I was ‘last chair’ if that meant anything to you and ‘second to last chair’ was just a chair.

Oh yeah, I think I made it to 3rd or 4th chair one year, but I was still behind mostly underclassmen. I should have been a drummer.

Thanks for the love Peter…and for the record I remember you being a pretty good trumpet player

I appreciate your memory, maybe it will remember that our football team was good, too. ;)
