I understand typos. I don’t like them, but I’m guilty of committing them, so I get them.
But, as I see it, there are two types: (1) the typo that looks like a typo (e.g., teh blatant missed keustroke), and (2) the typo that makes the writer look like an idiot. Last Friday, I was guilty of the latter. But I’m not an idiot (not for this reason, anyway), I just didn’t catch it until this morning.

The correction in the original has been made, but it sat there all weekend. So, to you grammarians out there, I apologize. I have already kicked myself in the teeth repeatedly.
In the future, feel free to catch my mistakes for me and drop me a line correcting me. Thanks.

Don’t you just love ‘em?

Yup!

That’s very minor and forgivable but I know what you mean.
There are many people who (whom?) I correct but then they keep on spelling wrong. Loose for lose, there-they’re-their, rediculous, definately etc. Drives me nuts. But we all have our weaknesses and I sure have some big ones.
I also want to be corrected because I want to be correct.

I read that and thought typo – not idiot!
I hate it when I find them in my writing . . .

I still have to do a “grammar” meme but the people who did it before me think spelling is synonymous with grammar or a subset of it. The latter isn’t true is it? I’m going to get them for it to make myself feel superior.

Jeff, you go, my friend. On the war path.
Bitsy, thanks…next time, shoot me an email letting me know

I have noticed a problem in my own writing – double letters! I don’t know why they happen. Maybe my fingers bounce on a key or something, but I will often see a “ii” within a word, or a “Ww” at the beginning. Fortunately my spellcheck catches it; but I’m so used to seeing it that my own internal mental spellcheck sometimes doesn’t see that squiggly red line under the word.
Besides that, I have fat fingers that often catch two keys at once. I thank the Lord for spellcheck.

Sorry Peter, I should have let you know. Obviously not thinking here because I would want folks to let me know!

Gary, I relied heavily on spell check in college, but I would still get knocked for grammatical stuff I would have caught if had really proofed my stuff. I agree, I’m grateful for it, but it’s a little overrated.
Bitsy, I forgive you.
