I Love Conspiracy Theories

I absolutely love conspiracy theories. I especially love documentaries about conspiracies and conspiracy theories.

Whether it’s about rigged elections, UFOs, religions and secret societies, plots for world domination, or otherwise, if you’re peddling a good (even a not-so-good) conspiracy theory, you’ll find an audience in me.

In the end, I rarely ever believe any of them. More rarely still, however, do I believe that there’s not at least a grain of truth in most of them.

Is there one that triggered this post?

I like them too – mainly because they are like a mystery – and agree about the grain of truth. But which grain . . .

I was watching “Uncounted” about the 2000 & 2004 elections and the Diebold voting machines. I’ve seen it before, but I watch CT documentaries non-stop. I love UFO cover-up stuff, illuminati stories, you name it.

I just watched “Knowing” with Nicolas Cage. Now there’s conspiracy theory for you! :-D

I was disappointed in “Knowing” actually. I had such high hopes, and the first 3/4 of it was good, but the end left me hanging.

Peter we seem to have quite a bit in common. I’m a bit of a conspiracy nut myself.

I love that kind of stuff. Lori will reluctantly watch some of it with me, but she gets so into it that she’s always disappointed in the end when there’s no real resolution. All the better, so we can move on to the next conspiracy theory.

The more elaborate the conspiricy; the better I love it! I’m with you, though. I rarely find anything more than a grain of truth in any of them. Some of these “conspiracy” authors shouldn’t be left alone at night… “Oh, my word! The Boogy Man!”

But, if they weren’t left alone, they wouldn’t have all of that time to come up with the conspiracy theories, so pick your poison. I prefer they stay inside thinking up stuff.

Yes, Sir; you’re right. The world would be pretty boring without “normals” AND nut jobs co-mingling. I guess the same holds true about God. If we were all born “Saved”, there’d be no one to witness to, and no reason to worship! I’ll take the mixed bag any day. Thanks!

I think that all conspiracy theories have SOME evidence pointing the interpreter into some direction, but I honestly think that many take it way too far. I think my favorite is the one about the Illuminati taking over the Presidential Seat when Barack Obama was elected, and that he’s going to order us to all kill ourselves in some way, but we won’t care because Illuminati movie directors in Hollywood have trained us to not care about the government killing us en mass.

That one is new to me, IT.
