Peter, is the sign on US-180 going into Snyder, Texas? (I can’t imagine there being two such signs that look identical!)

I can appreciate the humor. Most people are actually unaware of the Primitive Baptist Church. I have included a URL ( http://www.texasprimitivebaptists.org ) that is a web application that I developed that enables you to query all PB churches in the database. This site is actually more of a history of the Primitive Baptist Church in Texas.

The URL for the web site for the actual church house that is “4 Blocks” from the infamous sign is: http://www.texasprimitivebaptists.org/snyder. I served them as Pastor from November, 2006 until last March.

For Polycarp: Primitive as in old… “Old Baptist Church – 4 blocks…

Peter you might check “4 blocks down” and see what is there. There are not many of these churches left around. I had a friend whose family was “Primitive” and they eventually joined the Church of Christ. They are more like Church of Christ than Baptist.

Since I am “primiitive ie old I got the joke and got the sign. Hope this helps.

I mean, Primitive Baptist is like the CoC – no instruments, no payment of leaders, etc… Still not getting the joke.
